Acer, one of the lynchpins of the laptop and PC world, are eyeing up the mobile phone market, and we may very well be seeing Acer mobile phones as early as the first quarter of next year.It’s clear they mean to use mobile phones to spread themselves into other markets. As Jim Wong, senior corporate vice president and president of IT product business group at Acer, stated, “Leveraging on its global channels and market share in the global PC market, Acer expects the handset business to be a growth driver within three years.”
